Dr. Magelky was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota. Through high school and college she volunteered at Minn-Kota PAAWS (People Advocating Animal Welfare Services), a non-profit organization focused on providing affordable spay/neuter and other veterinary services. She received her Bachelor's Degrees in Animal Science and Equine Science as well as a minor in Agribusiness from North Dakota State University. Dr. Magelky went on to complete veterinary school as part of the inaugural class at the University of Arizona. 

She is a cat lover, soft-tissue surgery enthusiast and community outreach advocate. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, country swing and ballroom dancing, reading and following her younger brother’s hockey team.
